Instagram takeover 25 March 2025

LANDINGS is back for 2025, and over the next few weeks we are taking over the @falmouthphotographyonline Instagram account. Landings is a collective of research clusters: Habitats, Practices of Care, Centres and Networks and Im/material Worlds; each of which is a collaboration of artists who share a cohesive methodology of visually communicating the world in which we live.

Practices of Care brings together those interested in the diversity of human identities, their health and their wellbeing. This includes those examining representations of the self, and of others; of majority and minority communities; and potentially those interested in more participatory practices.

Today we introduce the work of Jo Sergeant and Kay Fisher

Jo Sargeant

Jo Sargeant collaborates with communities both celebrating and fighting to save their libraries. Her work highlights the resilience and pride people have in themselves and in their school and public libraries. Despite the vital role libraries play in communities, they face increasing challenges, and not everyone recognises their value or considers them a priority for public support. @josergeantphoto

Kay Fisher

Kay Fisher’s current practice revolves around the theme of performativity of self, exploring and illustrating how the way we present to the world depends on which “self” we want to present at that time, to that audience, in that setting. Her current work delves into this idea of performing the self on a more personal level, using jigsaws as a way to illustrate the multitude of combinations of self. @kayfisherphotos
