Instagram takeover 27 March 2025

LANDINGS is back for 2025, and over the next few weeks we are taking over the @falmouthphotographyonline Instagram account. Landings is a collective of research clusters: Habitats, Practices of Care, Centres and Networks and Im/material Worlds; each of which is a collaboration of artists who share a cohesive methodology of visually communicating the world in which we live.

The artists of ‘Centers and Networks’ seek out the connection within themselves and others, often telling stories about historical and modern issues with the world around them. The artists this year, Perry Gratton and Pat Kelleher, both tell stories which are poignant and understated.

Perry Gratton

Perry Gratton’s work investigates his connection to the village of Sileby; he describes this work as a piece of closure and memorandum of his teenage years. Some of his favourite places will soon no longer exist, such as Ratcliffe on Soar power station; soon be demolished. This project is an ode to the feeling of nostalgia and exploring what it means to be young and free. It ’s to being kids in love, seeking pleasure in the small things and not worrying where things are going to take you. @perryygratton

Pat Kelleher

Pat Kelleher’s work,”Enduring Imprints from the Colonial Gaze”, delves into the intricate relationship between botanical representation, colonialism, and power dynamics. Drawing inspiration from the aesthetic and scientific approach of historical botanical artists like Atkins and Bradbury, Pat examines how colonial practices facilitated the development of hierarchical systems of classification, categorisation, and control. @scratching_in_the_dirt
