LANDINGS is back for 2025, taking over the @falmouthphotographyonline Instagram account. Landings is a collective of research clusters: Habitats, Practices of Care, Centres and Networks and Im/material Worlds; each of which is a collaboration of artists who share a cohesive methodology of visually communicating the world in which we live.
Im/material Worlds brings together those with critical perspectives on consumerism and those concerned with promoting responsible and sustainable consumption. This also includes the consumption of the photographic image itself, and incorporates those who are preoccupied with the dissemination of the photographic image and the possibilities for nascent technologies.
Today we introduce the work of artist John Hodgson.
John Hodgson
John focuses on the transience of human life and how our lives are dominated by time, while we find myriad ways to try to manage it. Decay and the different rates of change we and the objects we create and curate are the main thrusts and the fundamental futility of the relentless accumulation of objects. @fideii
