Instagram takeover 8 April 2025

LANDINGS is back for 2025, and we have taken over the @falmouthphotographyonline Instagram account. Landings is a collective of research clusters: Habitats, Practices of Care, Centres and Networks and Im/material Worlds; each of which is a collaboration of artists who share a cohesive methodology of visually communicating the world in which we live.

Today we introduce the work of Practices of Care artists Hassan Ul-Haq and Emma Collins.

Hassan Ul-Haq

Hassan Ul-Haq is a multidisciplinary artist who uses the medium of photography and visual-media to address concepts around identity and belonging. His current collection uses the photomontage to subvert media bias against the South Asian community. Collaborating with the subjects to change existing media conscious and to portray all involved as nuance and existing within the constructs of the world that we live in.
To showcase who we truly are. @hassanulhaqphotography

Emma Collins

Stills from What I Can’t Explain video

Emma Collins’ project, ‘What I Can’t Explain’, is a meditation on the thresholds we cross in midlife. Reflecting on the transformation of self, both biologically and in spirit, the series is a personal account of the liminal space separating before and next, and the interplay between fluctuating states of mind. It is about letting go and embracing the uncertainty of what lies ahead. Guided by the unique texture of the soundscape, images have been sequenced non-linearly into a multimedia piece, mirroring the fragmented, circular nature of emotional time, reflecting the shifting rhythms and inner tensions of midlife. @emmacollins_photography
